North Somerset homes deal with everything the British weather throws at them — muddy boots from the coastal paths at Clevedon, dogs coming in from the Somerset Levels, and that general grime that builds up quietly over months without you noticing. At a certain point, the hoover stops being enough. That’s where professional carpet cleaning comes in — and that’s where we come in. We’re Sheen Services 1988. A family-run cleaning company based in Somerset with over 37 years of experience cleaning carpets and upholstery in homes and businesses across the region. We cover North Somerset towns including Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead, Nailsea, Yatton, Congresbury, Axbridge, Cheddar, and the Burnham-on-Sea area. If you’re searching for professional carpet cleaning in North Somerset, we’d love to show you what a proper clean looks like.   --- ## Why Professional Carpet Cleaning Is Worth It Most people vacuum regularly — that’s a good habit, and it does the job for surface dirt. But carpets hold onto more than just the stuff you can see. Deep in the fibres, you’ll find dust mites, bacteria, pet dander, and ground-in soil that a domestic vacuum simply can’t reach. Professional hot water extraction (sometimes called steam cleaning) is a different level entirely. Here’s how it works in plain terms: hot water is injected into the carpet under pressure, loosening soil and breaking down contaminants at fibre level. Then it’s immediately extracted — along with everything it’s dislodged — leaving the carpet genuinely clean, not just surface-fresh. The results are usually noticeable within minutes. Colours look brighter. The pile feels softer. And that faint smell you’d stopped noticing? Gone. Beyond the obvious benefits, there are a few practical reasons to book a professional clean: - **Carpet lifespan.** Ground-in grit and soil act like sandpaper on carpet fibres. Regular professional cleaning removes this abrasive layer and significantly extends the life of your carpet. - **Allergen reduction.** Dust mites and pet allergens are a real concern, particularly for households with young children or allergy sufferers. - **Warranty protection.** Some carpet manufacturers actually require professional cleaning at regular intervals to keep a warranty valid.   --- ## What Makes Sheen Services Different We know there are plenty of cleaning companies out there. So here’s what we think sets us apart — honestly, without the fluff. ### 37 Years of Hands-On Experience We’ve been cleaning carpets professionally since 1988. That’s not a marketing line — it’s real, tested knowledge built over thousands of jobs across Somerset, Bath, Bristol, and surrounding areas. We’ve seen virtually every type of carpet, every kind of stain, and every situation where something could go wrong. That experience means we know what to do before a problem starts. ### WOOLSAFE Approved Operator This one matters, especially in North Somerset homes with quality carpets. WOOLSAFE is an internationally recognised certification for operators who have demonstrated the knowledge and competence to safely clean wool and delicate fibre carpets. Using the wrong product or temperature on a wool carpet can cause irreversible damage — shrinkage, browning, or permanent distortion of the pile. As a WOOLSAFE-approved operator, we are trained and tested on the specific requirements of wool and wool-blend carpets. Not every cleaning company holds this accreditation. If you have a wool carpet, this really is a credential worth checking before you book anyone. ### NCCA Gold Member We hold Gold Membership with the National Carpet Cleaners Association (NCCA) — the leading professional body for carpet and upholstery cleaning in the UK. Gold Membership reflects a commitment to professional standards, ongoing training, and ethical practice. It also means we’re held to account by an independent body, not just our own word. ### Endorsed by Leading Carpet Manufacturers We are recommended by Axminster, Brintons, and Wilton — three of the most respected carpet manufacturers in the UK. These endorsements aren’t handed out freely. They reflect that our methods and equipment meet the standards those manufacturers trust to care for their products. ### Professional Equipment — Prochem All the Way We use Prochem hot water extraction machines for carpet cleaning, along with Prochem and Chemspec cleaning products. These are professional-grade tools and chemicals used by the best operators in the industry. We always carry two machines on the van, so a technical issue never means leaving a job half-done. ### Our Guarantees We stand behind our work, simply and clearly: - **100% satisfaction guarantee** — if you’re not happy with the result, we’ll make it right. - **10-day spot return guarantee** — if a stain reappears within 10 days of us cleaning it, we’ll come back and re-clean at no extra charge. We know that real confidence in a cleaning company comes from knowing what happens if something isn’t perfect. That’s what these guarantees are about.   --- ## North Somerset Areas We Cover We regularly work throughout North Somerset, covering a wide range of towns and villages within our 20-mile service radius.
